Wedding by the FountainBrice E. Hayes Memorial Fountain
Located at the base of the Hayes House hill in the open vista, this beautiful memorial fountain flows from the end of April to the middle of October. The open vista is surrounded by the majestic Norway Spruce and in the center is the Brice E. Hayes Memorial Fountain.

The Memorial Fountain is accessible via the Arboretum entrance at 801 Elks Road.

Hayes House
Hayes House is the former estate home of Stanley W. Hayes.  The three-bedroom second floor offers panoramic view of Arboretum vistas, fitting of a country estate home. Two bedrooms each have double beds, while the third has 2 twin beds. A fourth bedroom, containing a queen size bed, is located on the first floor. A furnished kitchen, sitting room, music room, office and library are available.

We cannot offer full service for the Hayes House, therefore housekeeping is not available during your stay. You are welcome to have food brought in or catered.  The house is decorated with many original furnishings. Please treat the house with special care while you stay.

Hayes House with SnowHayes House/Memorial Fountain Rental Guidelines
The following guidelines apply to the rental of the Memorial Fountain and Hayes House:

(Renter is: Hayes Arboretum; Rentee is: Representative of Group renting the facility)

  • Reservations must be made at least 15 days in advance.
  • Payment in full must be paid at time of reservation.
  • $100 per hour will be assessed for earlier availability of Fountain Rental (2 hours maximum).
  • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
  • All Arboretum etiquette rules, including no pets and no bicycles, are enforced.
  • Smoking is permitted on the gravel parking lot at the fountain area and outside on the north and south patios of the Hayes House only.
  • Rental of one porta-potty is required (at rentee's expense). If more than 50 people will be attending one additional unit is required (at rentee's expense).
  • Tents are allowed on the west side of the fountain. They can be set up one working day before the events and left up one working day after the event (working day defined as Mon-Fri). If the tent is put up any earlier or left up later then the time allowed there will be at a $100 per day charge until the tent is removed.
  • Rentee is to provide two people to direct parking in designated areas that will meet with a staff person prior to the event to go over directions. No parking is allowed on the grass.
  • Please keep in mind that the Arboretum personnel reside adjacent to the Hayes House. Please respect their privacy and the area surrounding their homes.
  • Please secure and lock the house when not occupied making sure all windows are closed and lights are off. The key may be left in the gold lock box outside the front door on the post.
  • Rentees are to perform all clean up of their activity, including making sure the house is left as it was found. Please do not move any furniture around in the house.
  • Contact the administration office for approval of anything you would like moved.
  • Please report any damages and or malfunction to the Arboretum personnel.
  • A contact person will be available during the rental.
  • Guests are exempt from the Auto Tour access fee.

The management of Stanley W. Hayes Research Foundation, Inc. and Hayes Arboretum retain the right to deny the rental to any group that may over extend the facility or staff, or that is not consistent with our mission, or that may negatively impact our public image. Fee for usage of any facility is subject to change.
